How much does dog training cost?

Every program is custom-built for your dog’s age, temperament, training history and your goals, so pricing varies. We start with a free demonstration and consultation, where we meet you and your dog, build a training plan, and give you an accurate cost. There’s no cost or obligation.

What training methods do you use?

We use balanced training: rewards, praise and play combined with clear communication and fair guidance. Our mission is revolutionizing the quality of life with happy, obedient and confident dogs. We customize every session to the dog and owner.

Do you only train with the Sit Means Sit collar?

No. We use a variety of tools, but our customized remote collar is one we use often because it allows precise timing and communication at a distance. Learn how we use remote collars and read our myths & facts.

Will my dog always have to wear the collar?

Training moves through phases: teaching and control, reinforcement, then maintenance. Over time, reliance on the collar drops considerably. Like any training tool, some reinforcement is part of every dog’s life, the same way drivers still need the occasional reminder to stop at stop signs.

What age can my dog start?

Private puppy lessons can start at 10 weeks. Day Training and more formal programs start around 16 weeks. There’s no upper age limit. We train senior dogs too. See Puppy Training.

Can you help with aggression or reactivity?

Yes. Reactive and aggressive dogs are a big part of what we do. See Reactive & Aggressive Dog Training.

Which program is right for my dog?

It depends on your dog, your goals and your schedule. Compare Day Training, Private Lessons, Group Classes and Board & Train, or let us recommend one at your free evaluation.

Is training guaranteed?

Our training is backed by a lifetime warranty for your dog’s life, and programs like Day Training include lifetime access to private lessons and group classes. Your trainer will explain exactly what’s included in your program.

Where are you located?

7730 Frontage Road, Cicero, NY 13039, with free parking out front. We serve Syracuse and communities across Central New York. Take the facility tour or see our service areas.
