Our trainers come from all kinds of backgrounds, including rescue work, grooming, horse training and therapy-dog evaluation. They all have one thing in common: they trained their own dogs with the Sit Means Sit system first, and loved the results so much they made it their career.

David Wilbert
A Central New York native, Dave began training with the Sit Means Sit system in 2009 under Anthony Bracciante in Denver.
It started with Maddi, a chocolate lab Dave rescued in Denver. Other trainers had written her off as a dog that should be kept away from other dogs. At a free Sit Means Sit demonstration, Maddi was working off leash around other dogs within minutes, and her confidence soared. She went on to join Dave hiking, snowshoeing and boating.
Dave brought the system home to CNY to give local families that same freedom with their dogs. His one regret? Not starting sooner. Meet Dave’s dogs ›

Justin Ives
Justin is a Cicero local who first walked through our doors as a client with Remi, his high-energy Weimaraner. Remi already knew the basics, but Justin wanted dependable off-leash control.
The speed of Remi’s progress hooked him, and when a spot opened on the team, he jumped at it.

Nick
Nick grew up in Watertown surrounded by family dogs. After moving to the Syracuse area, he trained his own Pitbull/Mastiff mix, Cash, and German Shepherd, Cleo, with Sit Means Sit.
He loves the variety of breeds and personalities he works with, and nothing beats showing an owner what their dog is really capable of.

McKenzie
McKenzie is an AKC evaluator and co-evaluates therapy and service dog teams for K-9 Caring Angels. At home she has four dogs: two certified therapy dogs, a service dog, and a pup in training.
She keeps training clear, fun and tailored to each dog, whether the goal is better manners or public-access work.

Jo
Jo lives with three dogs: Pete, Rosie and Mac. Adopting Rosie in 2020 led her into rescue work, including enrichment at the Jefferson County SPCA, where she found her calling as a trainer.
She’s known for a calm, balanced style built on clarity and timing, and she especially enjoys high-energy dogs and foundation skills like recall and place.

Cameron
Cam grew up in Cicero with a house full of animals, including a tortoise. After training his family dog Rudie with our system, the two started taking off-leash hikes across New York State.
Cam’s favorite part of the job is teaching families how to communicate with their own dogs.

Isabel
Isabel is a lifelong Central New Yorker with a background in horse training and dog grooming. She wanted to solve aggression and anxiety, not just work around them, so she turned to training.
Her own dogs, reactive rescue Mille and Jack Russell mix Zara, are proof of how much the system can help.

Jordan Parks
Jordan grew up in Cicero with dogs and horses, and today shares her home with Salem, her German Shepherd.
She’s passionate about giving dogs the best life possible, especially the challenging dogs other people might give up on.
